Massive police presence at Lidl after 'disturbance' between man and security guard

A man was arrested after a "disturbance" involving a security guard at a Lidl store in Liverpool city centre.

Police were called out to the supermarket on London Road at around 12.20pm today (Thursday) following reports of a "disturbance between a man and a security guard."

A man was arrested at the scene, police have confirmed.

There was a heavy police presence in London Road as officers dealt with the scene. A dog handling unit was at the scene.

Police have now released a comment to the ECHO.

A spokesman said: "We were called at 12.20pm to the Lidl store on London Road to reports of a disturbance between a male and a security guard.

"A male has been arrested for a number of offences and has been taken into custody. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
