A vacant site at High Street could become a major office and apartment development under new plans.
The former goods yard at Collegelands, close to the Moxy hotel, has been chosen as the location of 235 new apartments, commercial units and landscaping.
Vastint Hospitality has submitted plans to 'transform the former industrial land into a coherent piece of the city'.
The development would include an eight-storey office block to the south of the Moxy hotel which would include a cafe/co-working spaces at ground floor level. The building would offer space for small business users and start-ups.
Apartments would be within three stepped towers and would include shared facilities such as residents' lounges and a gym, reports reGlasgow.
The application is the latest to be drawn up aiming to transform part of the High Street area which sits close to the University of Strathclyde and City of Glasgow College.
We reported how the Old College Bar could be demolished under plans to build an 11-storey block of flats. The pub would be knocked down along with a number of other unlisted buildings at the junction of High Street and George Street to create 239 build-to-rent flats with roof-top terraces.
Another 700-home development is underway at High Street, on land formerly used for the railway and car park.
Build-to-let operator Get Living was given planning permission in 2018 to transform a derelict site behind High Street station in what was described as a £200 million investment.
It will include 727 homes for rent, a public square, 99 student studios and around 3,365 square metres of space for retail, leisure, food and drink and commercial business.
High Street station is also in line for a makeover after receiving a £10m funding boost from Glasgow City Council.
Transport Scotland will be responsible for creating a new, modern and fully accessible station which is scheduled to be complete by 2025.
