To celebrate Leeds' hosting the Cricket World Cup the city will set up a fan zone in Millennium Square between June 21 and June 23.
Thousands are expected to flock to the city this summer as Headingley Stadium will host four games in the tournament, and the newly announced fan zone will give people the chance to get caught up in World Cup fever.
As well as being able to watch live broadcasts of the games, a range of multi-cultural food, music and entertainment will be on offer totally free of charge.
Fans from home and abroad are expect to take advantage of the fan zones that will also be in place in seven other host cities.
Headingley Stadium will host England v Sri Lanka on Friday, June 21. This coincides with the opening day of the fan zone, so fans without a ticket can watch the game in the sun (fingers crossed!).
Leader of Leeds City Council, Cllr Judith Blake, said: “We are very proud that Leeds has been named as a host city for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2019, and cannot wait for the action to begin this summer.
“As part of this wonderful carnival of cricket, our iconic Headingley Stadium will be hosting four matches, and we are really looking forward to welcoming fans from across the world to our city.
"The fan zone on Millennium Square promises to be a fantastic way in which fans will be able to come together, have fun, and enjoy a range of entertainment and activities.”
