Massive great white shark rams boat after beaches close nearby over attack fears

This is the terrifying moment a great white shark gets up close and personal with some alarmed fishermen - nearly a year after a deadly attack just a few miles down the coast .

The pals were taking a trip out in Cape Cod Bay as they spent their afternoon trying to hook some lobsters.

But the trio almost caught something none of them were expecting.

The video, shot by Matt Riley , shows the fearsome sea creature approaching their tiny boat before it nudges the vessel.

The shark flashes its teeth as it gives them a little warning before finally swimming off.

Last September tragic Arthur Medici, 26, lost his life after he was bitten by a great white while boogie boarding at nearby Wellfleet.

Since then numerous sightings off the coast of Massachusetts have forced some beaches to close in fear of another deadly attack.

“He’s coming right up to the boat!” shouts someone on board as the the shark gathered speed.

The American posted the video on Instagram after the alarming meeting with the great white, which can grow to weigh over three tons.

“The most epic thing I’ve ever witnessed on the water,” he captioned it.

It soon left them alone to go and find something to eat.

“Great white sharks up to 20 feet in length feeding on a dead whale in Cape Cod Bay,” Riley added on his video.

The species are one of the world's most deadly and are often found in cool, coastal waters.

They can swim more than 15 miles per hour but in the US there is, on average, only one fatality every two years.

But fears are again growing in the area following events of a year ago.

“It hurts because you know it’s inevitable,” said surfer Marc Angelillo “We don’t have things in place. It’s just a matter of time, again.”
