Massive crowds flock to Coppers as nightclubs reopen

Massive queues have been forming on Harcourt Street tonight as nightclubs reopen.

Crowds had flocked to Coppers earlier this evening with the hopes of enjoying Ireland's much-anticipated freedom night.

The queues stretched almost the entire length of the street with many already giving up hope of getting into the club tonight.

Revellers were taken aback by the huge queues ahead of the nightclub's reopening.

One person tweeted: "Lads! 7.30 and the queue is 90.

"Young bucks who’ve yet to dark the door. Coppers is back."

Coppers had previously welcomed the reopening on Instagram.

They wrote: "Get ready for the return."

"It's happening. Doors open 9pm on Friday night. Strictly 21's.

"Covid-19 vaccination certificates with valid ID are mandatory for entry."

Like all other nightclubs, it has been closed since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

Nightclubs and venues are allowed have up to 1,500 people standing in their premises, with the new rule saying the rest must be seated.
