Massive crowds as sausage dog cafe comes to Newcastle city centre

There was a massive reaction to our story on it last month and that was borne out in the huge crowds that gathered as The Dachshund Cafe Cafe arrived in Newcastle on Sunday afternoon.

Billed as "a place where dog owners and dog lovers alike celebrate all things sausage dog," The Dachshund Cafe Cafe has hosted a number of pop-up events around the country and shortly before mid-day it welcomed loads of visitors who'd lined up for its pop-up at Revolucion de Cuba in the city centre.

We'd had a feeling from the fact that over 6,000 of you commented on our Facebook post about the cafe in May, that plenty of people would then snap up tickets for the event and it sold out as soon as word got around.

And then after weeks of counting down, sausage dog fans and their own canine companions, had their chance to get close to a whole host of the insanely cute canines, as well as getting stuck into some delicious treats and posing for the PUParazzi including a doggy photobooth for instant pics!

There was also a menu dedicated to dogs that included pupcakes, pupcorn, dognuts and and pupuccinos.

While it has only been open for a year, Revolucion de Cuba, has established itself as a favourite amongst Geordie dog owners thanks to its events like Dogs of de Cuba social and Doggy Disco.
