Massive cannabis farm with more than 2,000 plants discovered in derelict building

A massive cannabis farm with around 2,000 plants was discovered in a derelict building.

Merseyside Police received a tip off that drugs were being grown in a derelict building on Charley Wood Road, Knowsley, and went to investigate.

On Thursday, March 3, at around 1pm officers raided a building on the road and found thousands of cannabis plants.

It took officers around four days to clear out the "established" farm.

No arrests have been made, but Inspector Dave Morgan said he is "confident" police will track the owners down.

He said: "This is a significant find for us and officers have been busy clearing the location over the weekend.

"Unfortunately, no one has yet been arrested in connection with the farm but we are continuing to investigate and have already been speaking to business owners and locals nearby so I am confident we will track the owners down."
