Shocked neighbours heard a 'huge bang' as the roof of a flat collapsed into the street.
Emergency services were called to Anfield Road at 7.31pm this evening to r eports of a gable end of a building collapsing onto the pavement below.
Two fire engines, the search and rescue team along with Merseyside Police were at the scene of the collapse.

All adjoining properties were evacuated once emergency services arrived, with residents being unable to re-enter their homes until around 10pm.
People living on the road told The ECHO they heard a 'huge bang' and came outside to 'lots of smoke and debris'.
They said: "I was in the house playing music quite loud when we heard this massive bang.
"When we came out into the street there was lots of smoke everywhere and debris on the floor.
"My kids usually play on their bikes up this way, I'm so glad they decided to go to the park instead."
Merseyside Police confirmed nobody was in the flat when the building collapsed and nobody is believed to be injured.
A spokesperson from the force said: "Merseyside Police can confirm they are tonight, Tuesday 7 September, at the scene of a partial building collapse in Anfield.

"Officers were called at around 7.30pm to a report that the gable end of a terraced house on Anfield Road had collapsed.
"No-one was in the property at the time and there are no reports of anyone being injured.
"Fire crews from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service are also at the scene and an investigation into the collapse is ongoing."
A woman who lives in the adjoining property said how her niece was upstairs when they heard a bang.
She said: "We thought a wardrobe had collapsed when we heard the bang, then we ran upstairs and saw the bricks out of the window.

"We ran out the house and then had to run back in for the dog. It was scary."
At around 10pm a large lorry and cherry picker arrived at the scene to clear up the debris.
