Massive €1.35 million cannabis seizure as gardai carry out Meath raid

Two men have been arrested and a haul of €1.35million of cannabis seized after a garda raid.

Personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) carried out an operation in the Meath area yesterday as part of ongoing investigations targeting people suspected to be involved in organised crime.

A vehicle and one premises were searched and 67.5kg of cannabis herb, pending analysis, with a value of €1.35 million was discovered and seized, gardai said.

Two men, both aged in their 30s, have been arrested as part of this investigation.

They are currently detained at Finglas and Ashbourne Garda Stations under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

A Garda spokesperson added: "Investigations are ongoing."
