Massimiliano Allegri's 'demand' before he would consider taking Man Utd manager's job

Massimiliano Allegri is in the mix to take the reins at Manchester United, according to reports from Italy.

The Red Devils have started the season poorly and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under pressure to turn things around quickly.

On the weekend United were comfortably beaten 2-0 by West Ham and rival managers have started being linked with his job.

Allegri is currently without a club after leaving Juventus at the end of last season following five years in charge of the Turin-based giants.

And Italian publication Tuttosport have named him as a possible replacement for Solskjaer should the United board decide to pull the trigger.

The publication claims that Allegri would have a demand if he was to take the reins at Old Trafford though - he wants big money to spend in January.

Solskjaer may be under pressure but it doesn't look like his bosses are going to be removing him from his position any time soon.

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodard spoke out about Solskjaer as United announced their annual financial figures on Tuesday.

He said: "It's important that we are patient while Ole and his team build for the future. We will continue to focus on the long-term strategy and won't be influenced by short-term distractions."
