Massimiliano Allegri: Juventus manager to leave Serie A champions at end of season

Juventus have confirmed that Massimiliano Allegri will not be their manager next season and will leave this summer.

The Italian coach and president Andrea Agnelli will meet the press tomorrow ahead of Sunday’s final home Serie A match against Atalanta.

Allegri had one more year on his contract in Turin, but he will now not see it out as the Bianconeri continue in a different direction.

A club statement read: "Massimiliano Allegri will not be on the Juventus bench for the 2019/2020 season.

"The coach and the President, Andrea Agnelli, will meet the media together at tomorrow's press conference - Saturday 18 May, at 2pm in the press conference hall of the Allianz Stadium."

Allegri joined the Old Lady in 2014 and has won Serie A in each of his five seasons in charge.

He also won the Coppa Italia four times, with two Supercoppas.

He managed to reach two Champions League finals, succumbing to Barcelona and Real Madrid, leaving Juve agonisingly short of their ultimate goal after sustained domestic dominance.

The quarter-final exit at the hands of Ajax ensured the season was ultimately a failure after the lavish outlay to bring in Cristiano Ronaldo last summer.
