Mass brawl involving around 20 people in Linlithgow leaves man in hospital with serious ear injury

A man was taken to hospital with a serious ear injury after a mass brawl involving around 20 people in Linlithgow.

The "large scale" incident happened on the junction of the A706 St Ninian's Road and the A803 High Street at around 11.20pm on Saturday.

Police say that a 32-year-old man was badly hurt and required treatment at St John's Hospital in Livingston.

He has since been released.

Officers want anyone who witnessed the incident, or who knows the identity of those involved, to come forward.

Detective sergeant Graham Garvie of Livingston CID said: "This incident happened on a main road with a group of around 20 people so it would've attracted the attention of anyone passing by.

"If anyone witnessed this, either from walking or driving past, or if anyone has any information that could assist us, please contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 4873 of 18 May 2019."
