'Mass brawl' involving '20 family members' breaks out at Pontins

A mass brawl between 20 family members reportedly broke out at a Pontins resort in front of shocked holidaymakers.

Police were called to the Pontins Prestatyn Sands Holiday Park on Wednesday afternoon to r eports of a disturbance between guests from Merseyside.

Officers attended the scene and arrested one man who was taken into custody.

It is believed that families and young children were around when the large scale fight broke out.

A witness told the ECHO : "There was a mass brawl involving around 20 family members from Merseyside , who were all fighting eachother.

"Police were called and one person was arrested, all in front of families children."

Pictures taken at the scene show three police cars outside the distinctive chalets where guests can be seen watching from their rooms.

In another photograph a man can be seen being led from the area, towards a police car, after being arrested to prevent a breach of the peace.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "We were called to a disturbance  at Central Beach  Pontins in  Prestatyn at 4.11pm on August 7.

"A man from Merseyside was arrested to prevent a breach of the peace and was later released without charge."
