Mason Mount posts social media message after making England debut

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has taken to social media to send a message following his England debut.

The 20-year-old was bought on as a second half substitute with the Three Lions three goals up in their European qualifier against Bulgaria on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues' youngster replaced Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson with just over 20 minutes to play, much to the delight of Chelsea fans.

Mount has had a whirlwind few months. He made his Chelsea debut just a few weeks ago in the season opener against Manchester United and scored his first goal for the club just a week later in the 1-1 draw with Leicester City.

The academy graduate has started every one of Chelsea's Premier League games so far this season, impressing under new head coach Frank Lampard, who he played under on loan at Derby County last season.

Mount played 44 times for the Rams in all competitions, scoring 11 times and providing six assists.

After making his Three Lions debut, the player posted on Twitter about his delight at reaching the milestone.

"So proud to make my England debut! Focus now turns to Tuesday! Well done boys!" He wrote.

The message was greeted with replies of congratulations from both fans and teammates, including Ben Chilwell, Jadon Sancho and Phil Foden.

Mount will have the chance to make his full international debut when England play Kosovo in their second European qualifier of the week on Tuesday evening.
