Mason Mount, Jude Bellingham and Moises Caicedo face Arsenal transfer inevitability this summer

Arsenal are looking to take their season fighting for the title in 2022/23 onward to future campaigns as Mikel Arteta’s project aims to establish the club as the dominant force in Arsene Wenger’s early years. No matter the outcome of the season, the club will be on the lookout to strengthen.

The club has been underestimated much to do with the thinner squad in comparison to title rivals Manchester City. Arsenal however will be looking to Pep Guardiola and the club’s work in squad building as a template to ensure long-term competitiveness at the top.

With that in mind, football.london takes a look at the five players almost certain to be linked with a move this summer. The Gunners have notoriously been linked with numerous players for successive windows without a move materialising with some featuring here.

Declan Rice

Naturally, the player is understood by football.london to be the club’s priority and the story is set to dominate the summer transfer window. West Ham United remain embroiled in a relegation scrap despite continuing in the UEFA Conference League.

Should they go down, or even if they don’t, the Gunners will be looking to snap up Rice and allow him a shot to compete for the elite trophies in the game. Price tags will be widely speculated upon as the Hammers look to cash in on their most valuable asset.

Moises Caicedo

Arsenal had a rather strange pursuit of Moises Caicedo in the winter. Despite Brighton offering up a stubborn position of zero sale interest, the Gunners continued to offer the Seagulls huge sums of money to tempt them to part ways with the Ecuadorian international.

Although unsuccessful, the Gunners are most likely not to see their interest in Caicedo fall silent this summer even with the player renewing his contract. He made it clear in a social media post his view on a move to north London was very much something he would entertain.

Ivan Fresneda

Another player linked in January, Ivan Fresneda was a left-field interest of the club. The teenager has continued to develop with Real Valladolid in front of the eyes of many clubs who are engaged in extensive scouting of the right-back.

Fresneda is a full-back with the characteristics of a midfielder, football.london have been told, and therefore he fits stylistically into the profile that Mikel Arteta tends to prefer. Having remained in Spain this winter, rumours are likely to resurface as the summer window approaches.

Mason Mount

Mason Mount's future remains very uncertain with Chelsea. With all the additions in the forward line, Mount’s assurance of game time in west London continues to waver and this has alerted some of the top clubs in the country such as Manchester United and Liverpool to the player’s situation.

With this, and with a Chelsea player being available, it’s almost a guarantee that we will hear of Arsenal’s supposed interest in Mount or at least that they’re following the player. In all honesty, though, the Gunners have plenty of players already who can do the job of Mount and so a move would make little sense.

Jude Bellingham

Set to be the transfer saga of the summer, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham is expected to make his next move this summer for a potential Bundesliga record sale. Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City have all been named as interested parties.

Should Arsenal go on to win the league, their status as champions is likely to see them named alongside plenty of elite clubs in the big transfer stories of the summer with Bellingham unlikely to escape. That said, a move to the Gunners doesn’t seem all that likely considering the price and wages being suggested.
