Owen Hargreaves believes Mason Greenwood has the perfect role model to follow in the shape of Marcus Rashford at Manchester United.
Greenwood scored twice as United secured their place in the knockout rounds of the Europa League as group winners with a 4-0 win over AZ Alkmaar on Thursday night, with all four goals coming in an 11 minute second half spell.
And despite the comprehensive scoreline which saw the Reds top their group, it was Greenwood who stole the headlines at Old Trafford and Hargreaves is calling on the academy graduate to model himself on Rashford.
“He has got the perfect role model in Marcus Rashford,” the former United midfielder said on BT Sport when asked about the 18-year-old.
“Just model yourself on Marcus Rashford. Is he going to play off the right, is he going to play off the left, or is he going to play up top.
“I think he is an attacker like Marcus Rashford. Marcus Rashford can play off the left, right, or as a number nine, and I think Mason is going to be the same.
“For his age at 18 I think he is an incredible natural finisher. I think he is in the perfect place with Ole and all these young players and he is going to be a star no question.”
