Mason Greenwood sends message to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after Manchester United sacking

Mason Greenwood has on Sunday thanked former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the Norweigan's sacking.

Solskjaer was earlier in the day relieved of his duties after a miserable 4-1 defeat away at Watford, the club's fourth in five games - a run in which the team has conceded 15 goals.

Michael Carrick has been put in caretaker charge as the club look to appoint an interim manager for the rest of the season.

Greenwood, who missed Saturday's game after testing positive for Covid-19, has benefited hugely from Solskjaer's three years in charge and was quick to send his thanks to the club great.

"Thankyou for everything boss," Greenwood said to his 1.3 million followers on Twitter.

Greenwood established himself in the first team under Solskjaer and has scored four goals in 14 appearances this season.
