Mason Greenwood has named the toughest opponent of his career - and it's a pretty surprising one.
Greenwood has made over 100 first-team appearances for Manchester United and been capped by England's senior team during his short career so far, playing in the Champions League, Europa League and the Premier League all before he turns 20.
The forward has been a regular in the first-team for the last two seasons under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, scoring 29 goals for the club - more than any other teenager in the modern era.
But having often been played out on the wing in men's football after coming through the academy as a centre forward, Greenwood has come up against some of the top full-backs in the world.
When asked by young Reds fan Phillip from Norway about who his toughest opponent was though, he came up with a name not many would have guessed.
Greenwood told the club's official website : "I’ve probably got to say, it might be a surprising one, but do you know [Joe] Bryan, the one for Fulham?
"He allowed me no space, no time on the ball, when we played them home and away. It was one of my most difficult games for us.
“He’s one you probably wouldn’t think I’d say his name, but he was getting tight to me and not giving me much space. He was a good defender and he was probably my toughest challenge.”
Bryan was part of the Fulham squad that got promoted in 2020, scoring twice in the play-off final, but they were sent straight back down to the Championship last season after a poor campaign.
Greenwood will continue with the United first-team, and should feature once again as the striker during their second pre-season friendly QPR this weekend.
