Mason Foster’s agent rips Redskins, NFL over surprise release on Tuesday

The Washington Redskins made a surprising roster move on Tuesday morning by informing veteran MLB Mason Foster that he was being released a day before training camp begins.

Now in the wake of the move, Foster’s agent has taken to social media in order to air his grievances.

Blake Baratz, who is the president of the Insitute for Athletes, seemed shocked by the announcement from the Redskins, which came on the eve of training camp.

Baratz said that Foster has spent the entire offseason under the assumption that he was going to be the starting middle linebacker for the team, and it could be assumed that the nine-year veteran was preparing for a larger role on defense following Reuben Foster’s injury suffered earlier this spring.

Until the organization releases any information as to why they decided to cut Foster, we will remain in the dark. But heading into training camp this week, Foster’s release is sure to be one of the main topics of conversation.
