Police have released CCTV images after a yob tried to rob a petrol station armed with a wooden plank.
At around 9pm on July 17, a man entered the BP garage in Fazakerly , with his faced covered and attempted to assault staff with a plank of wood.
The man made demands for cash before leaving the petrol station empty handed.
CCTV images released by Merseyside Police today, show a man who officers believe could have vital information about the attempted robbery.
No one is believed to have been injured during the incident but staff at the petrol station were left "extremely shaken" as a result.
Detective Inspector, Sean Kelly-Martland, of Merseyside Police, said: "We would like to trace the man pictured in the CCTV as we believe he has information which could assist our investigation.
"While there were no reports of anyone injured during this incident, staff were left extremely shaken and we are determined to find out who is responsible and bring him to justice."
