Masked thug threatened staff with knife during terrifying Glasgow petrol station raid

A masked thug threatened staff with a knife during a terrifying robbery at a petrol station in Glasgow.

The suspect entered the service station on Cumbernauld Road near Hogganfield Loch at 3.15am on Thursday October 14 and demanded money from a terrified employee.

He then made off with the stolen goods, leaving the worker "badly shaken" but uninjured.

Officers are reviewing CCTV from the service station and the surrounding area in a bid to identify the suspect.

Police describe him as white, aged around 30-35, between 5'5" and 5'8" in height and of a slim build.

He was wearing a dark grey Adidas hoodie, light grey joggers, a black face mask with an orange logo on the left hand side, white Nike trainers and a dark coloured North Face beanie hat.

In addition, the suspect was wearing gloves and carrying a black rucksack.

Detective Sergeant Raymond Hunter said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident.

"In particular, I would ask motorists with dash cam devices to check their footage is they may have captured images which could assist our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0362 of 14 October, 2021.

Alternatively, members of the public can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to give information anonymously.
