Masked suspects rob people in Lawndale: police

Police are warning Lawndale residents about two armed robberies that happened last week.

In both cases, the suspects approached someone, displayed a gun and demanded or took property by force, Chicago police said in a community alert.

The first robbery happened about 4 p.m. Nov. 18 in the 3400 block of West 16th Street, police said. A second occurred about 12:40 a.m. Nov. 23 in the 1300 block of South Christiana Avenue.

The suspects are described as one to four males wearing all black and ski masks, police said.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to contact Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
