Masked Singer's Traffic Cone 'solved' - and it's 'not Rob Beckett or Pointless star'

The Masked Singer UK viewers are convinced they have solved the identity of Traffic Cone on the ITV series, ahead of a double elimination this weekend.

Actor and comedian Rob Brydon is hotly tipped to be unmasked as the character on the show, especially now that some viewers have seen a video going around on Twitter of him singing.

His vocals matched with some of the clues could prove he is the character, according to fans.

Taking to Twitter, many viewers were confident they'd solved the celebrity under the mask, with some dropping the clues they believe are linked to the star.

One fan said: "Traffic cone singing Back For Good is really reminding me of Rob Brydon when he's singing as Uncle Bryn in Gavin&Stacey... no idea if the clues fit though."

Another agreed: "It is Rob Brydon! He’s had an argument with the Japanese embassy in 2011 and also had a sitcom linked to him called Candy Chops in 2015."

A third added: "Traffic Cone is definitely Rob Brydon," as fourth wrote: "Traffic cone has to be Rob Brydon."

Rob recently admitted he has been asked to take part in the series, while addressing rumours he could be Traffic Cone.

The Gavin & Stacey star and comedian appeared on ITV's The John Bishop Show, where he was grilled over the latest series.

It's then that Rob confessed he had been asked to do the show, and added that he'd seen speculation he was in fact Traffic Cone.

Commenting on the claims, he said he couldn't reveal the truth just yet in case it ruined the show.

Host John had asked him: "I mean you must have been asked to do The Masked Singer surely, because you've got a good singing voice."

He said: "Yes," and nodded, before remaining coy.

Rob added: "Every Saturday night people think I'm a traffic cone. I haven't seen this run of it but I assume there is a traffic cone, and obviously I can't say can I, because it would spoil something.

"But yes, I have been asked, yes."

Rob was forced to deny he was the character on Twitter last weekend, after apparently being approached by the true celebrity.

He posted to his followers: "Right so I have a confession. I’m not Traffic Cone. It’s a wind up.

"However it’s got so out of hand the actual Traffic Cone has angrily messaged me telling me to stop saying I’m traffic cone.

"So for the record, I’m not Traffic Cone. But I now know who is."

The tweet led to many fans believing they had finally cracked the case, and had rumbled the true identity of the character.

Several viewers were in agreement that Rob was possibly lying, and was actually playing a "double bluff" to throw fans off the scent.

One fan tweeted: "That’s what Traffic Cone would say…" as another agreed: "Sounds like a diversion tactic, exactly what a traffic cone is known for."

The Masked Singer UK airs Saturdays at 7pm on ITV.
