Sheridan Smith appeared to accidentally confirm Sausage's identity on The Masked Singer this evening.
The theatre star, 39, has been largely rumoured to be the character on the hit ITV programme for many weeks.
However, her appearance on rival BBC show Musicals: The Greatest Show helped fans compare her singing voice to that of Sausage's - and discerned that it wasn't actually her.
Fans flocked to Twitter to give their opinion, with one tweeting: "#MusicalsTheGreatestShow has now confirmed that sausage is not sheridan smith."
While another commented: "Sheridan Smith is amazing but I'm telling you she's NOT sausage. #MusicalsTheGreatestShow."
A third wrote: "2 mins in to #MusicalsTheGreatestShow.. sheridan is definitely not sausage..."
"Maybe now you'll all see that Sheridan isn't sausage Thinking face #MaskedSingerUK #musicalsthegreatestshow," another quipped.
One pointed out: "(there you go people, Sausage is not Sheridan Smith) #MusicalsTheGreatestShow."
Another tweeted: "Yeah I started watching #MusicalsTheGreatestShow. Sausage on #MaskedSingerUK 100% isn’t Sheridan Smith."
Sausage was one of three characters who made it through to next week's grand final and is yet to be unmasked alongside Robin and Badger.
On Saturday, Harlequin and Dragon were unmasked as Gabrielle and Sue Perkins.
