Masked Singer's Rita Ora under fire from viewers for 'ludicrous' guesses

Rita Ora came in for a barrage of criticism from Masked Singer viewers for her guesses during the first episode of the new series on Saturday night.

Rita was back on the panel alongside Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan as the bonkers TV programme made its highly anticipated return to screens.

Having launched on ITV in 2020, The Masked Singer became THE show that everyone had an opinion on after just one episode and quickly became a real ratings winner for the channel.

On New Year's Day, the panel and millions tuning in at home got their first look at half of this year's line-up, with six characters stepping into the spotlight.

The whole point of the show is to try and workout out 'who's that behind the mask?' but some of the predictions made by singer Rita hit a bum note with many people who watched Tuesday night's show.

After watching Robobunny give his first performance, the RIP and I Will Never Let You Down performer guessed social media mogul Elon Musk and then put forward Ellen DeGeneres as a contender for Chandelier, seemingly plucking her name out of nowhere.

And viewers were quick to take exception to her guesses.

One took to Twitter to rant: "Why the heck is Rita Ora on this show??? Her guesses are completely rubbish," with another, equally annoyed, blasting: "Rita Ora’s guesses are ridiculous," and a third tweeting: "Rita Ora’s guesses really trigger me"

Aside from Rita's guesses, the first episode of Masked Singer's third series sprung a huge shock when M People legend Heather Small was the first celeb to be voted out as her alias Chandelier was given the boot by the panel.

Heather, who has one of the most distinctive voices in British music, sounded nothing like she normally does as she covered Patsy Cline's Crazy.
