Masked Singer's Martin and Shirlie Kemp 'exposed' as Cat & Mouse by subtle clue before exit reveal

Masked Singer viewers claim to have 'rumbled' Cat and Mouse as Martin and Shirlie Kemp, before their exit on Saturday night, due to a subtle but 'tell tale' clue as they performed for the second time.

This summer, there was a massive first on the ITV show's spin-off, The Masked Dancer, when it had its first ever duo, Pillar and Post, who sparked lots of curiosity from viewers, before being forced off the show due to injury and revealed to be David Seaman and wife Frankie.

Following in its footsteps, The Masked Singer unveiled its first double act earlier this month and, just like Pillar and Post, they quickly sparked a flurry of theories from viewers at home, who were all trying to work out the answer to that killer question 'who's that ehind the mask?'

Just like the celebrity panel, fans playing armchair detective threw all sorts of names into the ring as potentials, including Heart Breakfast presenters Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston and Good Morning Britain hosts Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid.

While Davina McCall said she was sure that the couple in costumes weren't 'romantically involved' before conceding she thought none of the panel got it right, plenty of viewers were in agreement that Cat and Mouse were in fact the very much married, Martin and Shirlie Kemp, which ended up being absolutely spot on.

Jonathan was very much on the right lines, having been the only panellist to clock the Queen Victoria picture in Saturday's VT before Cat and Mouse's performance, but guessed Adam Woodyatt and Maisie Smith, rather than Martin, famous for being Albert Square wheeler dealer Steve Owen and other half Shirlie.

After losing out in the vote to Knitting, who many fans are convinced is Claire Richards, Martin and Shirlie revealed themselves, explaining a few of the clues from their time on the show. Martin said the '20 million' clue was in reference to the massive viewing figures EastEnders used to get when he was in it, while Shirlie revealed her black and white costume was a nod to her recently released book with partner in crime Pepsi, called Everything's Black and White.

They also told host Joel Dommett that son and TV and radio presenter, Roman, had no clue they were doing the show.
