Masked Singer fans convinced Scots actor Martin Compston is Bagpipes on hit ITV Show

Fans of ITV's hit singing contest The Masked Singer are convinced Martin Compston plays one of the characters on the latest series.

Line of Duty star Martin, from Greenock, has been singled out as having the potential to be Bagpipes after viewers decided to do some detective work of their own.

They believe it could be him because he is good at putting on voices - as seen by his English accented character Steve Arnott on the award-winning cop show.

After Saturday night's performances, which saw Heather Small reveal herself as Chandelier, viewers tried to work who was representing Scotland in the Bagpipes costume as they sang Blur's 'Song 2'.

On Twitter, the comments were awash with suggestions it was Martin as one viewers said:" #MaskedSingerUK bagpipes is martin compston for sure."

Another added: "Bagpipes is Martin compston! No clues whatsoever towards #lineofduty but he’s Scottish and small like bagpipes so yeah that’s my reasons for picking him #TheMaskedSingerUK."

One more sure agreed: "Bagpipes is Martin Compston #MaskedSinger."

While another tried to use some AC-12 team logic, suggesting: :"David tennant?? Or @martin_compston (leaning more to him because he knows how to put on an accent) #MaskedSingerUK".

Other suggestions have included Richard Madden and Andy Murray.
