'Masked Singer eviction means Otter won't get Valentine's Day romance'

It’s almost Valentine’s Day, but sadly a blossoming romance will not get to play out on our screens.

The Masked Singer’s Otter admits they had the hots for rival star Phoenix - but alas, an unmasking scuppered the fledgling love story from developing before our eyes.

On Saturday night’s episode, Daisy May Cooper was revealed to be inside the Otter costume, and was devastated to be sent home so early.

“It’s the best job I’ve ever done but near the end I was absolutely exhausted,” she said. “I was gutted to leave because I really fancied the Phoenix…So fit.”

So far, the judging panel of Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan have guessed that Phoenix could be Take That star Jason Orange and Doctor Who David Tennant.

Sparks could surely fly when they are unmasked.

The This Country star said that she was pleased her costume “gave me hips and an arse” and added of taking part: “It was still nerve wracking but I had to have the costume. I would never ever have been able to sing on stage as myself. I would have passed out and face planted the audience otherwise.”

And she wasn’t the only person devastated - she says of her daughter Pip: “When she found out I was going to be the Otter she cried and said that it was embarrassing.”
