A man dressed all in black and wearing a balaclava and gloves carried out a terrifying robbery at a well-known convenience store.
The robber struck after bursting in to the shop in Huyton on Tuesday.
Police today confirmed they were hunting the man who made off with cash after threatening a shop assistant he confronted at the Old Roundabout Convenience Store on Hillside Avenue.
Fortunately the victim was not hurt, but was left shaken by the incident around 12.20pm yesterday.
The robber fled in the direction of Primrose Drive.
Detective Inspector Jackie Guinness said: "A number of enquiries are being carried out in the area and I would ask anyone with information on this robbery to please contact us.
“Thankfully, no weapons were seen or used however this must have been an incredibly distressing experience for the victim, who was simply carrying out his job."
She added: "Hillside Avenue is a busy residential area and I would ask anyone with any CCTV, dashcam footage or information that may be able to assist the investigation to please get in touch.”
