Masked pair spotted fencing at Scots park leaving Twitter in stitches

A masked pair have been spotted duelling with swords at a park in Edinburgh.

A picture of two people fencing in the Meadows has gone viral after it left Twitter users in stitches.

The snap was posted online by Twitter user Disco Deek and shows the duo in action near a local cafe.

He shared the image with the caption: "I’ve seen some utter pretentious w*** in my 25 years plus in Edinburgh but this might be the new winner. #JudgeJohnDeed."

The post was bombarded with likes and comments as people shared their thoughts, reports Edinburgh Live.

One person said: "These turf wars between Morningside and Bruntsfield are getting out of hand."

A second person said: "Is that not technically a mugging, Edinburgh style?"

A third person said: "Duelling in Edinburgh is now the accepted way of settling who gets the earliest booking at Tom Kitchin’s restaurant."

A forth person said: "They wouldn't get away with that in Glasgow."

Meanwhile others thought social media users were being too critical of the pair and rushed to defend them.

One said: "What's wrong with fencing! It's an Olympic sport."

A second person said: "C‘mon. Live and let live. Nothing to be seen here. Nothing wrong with people showing diversity."

A third person said: "Too much sitting on the fence in this thread."
