Masked men with meat cleaver and machete force way into family home on New Year's Eve

Two masked men thought to be armed with a meat cleaver and a machete forced their way into a family home in Bestwood Village on New Year's Eve.

The men allegedly targeted a property in Hill Road at around 5.30pm on Thursday, December 31.

Nottinghamshire Police says they left empty handed after they were chased from the scene, and no one was injured.

Detective Sergeant Chris Berryman said: “This was a distressing incident for the victims and we are keen to find the people responsible as soon as possible. This was a significant disturbance and is likely to have been witnessed by people living nearby.
