Masked men smash café windows with bats as shaken customers sit inside

Customers in a Wirral café were left shaken after two masked men arrived and smashed the windows with bats.

Police were called out to the Yog Hut on Upton Road in Birkenhead at around 6pm last night following reports that the windows had been broken.

A source, who did not want to be named, told the ECHO how "two masked men ran inside and smashed the windows with bats".

They added: "Over the past few weeks the owner has been raising donations of money and toys to donate to Claire House and Cash for Kids."

Police told the ECHO that customers were left 'shaken' by the ordeal.
