Masked men force their way into Fazakerley home and steal seven French Bulldog puppies

Owners of seven French Bulldog puppies have offered a cash reward for their return after they were stolen by two masked men who entered their home.

Kaitlyn McCormack from Fazakerley wasn't home at the time but says the animals were taken while her mum Janine Walsh was in the house.

Janine told TeamDogs : "Two men where standing at the door, I opened the door thinking it was my son's friends but saw they were in balaclavas so tried to slam the door and they kicked their way through.

"One took me into the living room while the other went into the kitchen with two bags and took all seven puppies. My seven-year-old son came down as they were taking the pups.

"They also sat him down on the couch with me, while the other one continued to take the puppies, being aggressive and left."

Janine, who works as a support worker, believes they left in a Hybrid car.

The intruders are described to be in their early 20s with a scouse accent and while one was slim the other is said to be of a bigger build.

A £2,000 reward is being offered for the safe return of the three girls and four boys from the owners.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We are appealing for information after seven French bulldogs were stolen in a burglary at a house in Fazakerley last night (Sunday, November 7).

"Just after 9.20pm, it was reported two men forced entry to a home on Haven Road. One then pushed a woman in her 30s living at the property, before stealing seven French bulldogs.

"The offenders – described as having their faces covered and wearing hooded tops, dark clothing and gloves - then left the scene in a car.

"There was no report anyone was injured or that any weapon was seen."

Detective Inspector Jennie Beck added: “We understand the significant psychological impact the theft of dogs can have on their owners, and we are determined to find those responsible for this theft and return the dogs.

“Thankfully, police witness appeals have seen a number of dogs reunited with their owners, thanks also to the support of local media and members of the public.

“Our robust and targeted initiative Operation Castle has seen burglaries fall across Merseyside in recent years. Alongside our partners and within our communities, we work proactively every day to help prevent burglaries, with increased patrols on the streets of burglary hotspots, and advice to help residents protect themselves from being a victim of burglary.

“We act on all information given to us, and if you have any information on this incident or have been offered French bulldogs in the last 24 hours, please contact us.”

One person, commenting on Kaitlyn's Facebook plea said: "Disgusting! This isn’t robbing a telly this is lives that are dependent on humans to look after them, who knows what scruffs are doing with them. I hope when they try to sell them they are identified."

While another added: "I really hope they are found safe and sound."

A third said: "So sorry to hear your very sad news. Hope you get them back. Heartbroken for you all."
