A masked assailant fired a gun through a garage door Saturday in southwest suburban Orland Park.
A male resident had just pulled his vehicle into his garage when two “armed and masked offenders” approached him at 10:28 p.m. in the 11000 block of 167th Place, according to a statement from Orland Park police. The suspects claimed to be federal agents.
The victim ran into the house through the interior garage door and shut the door behind him, police said. A single gunshot was fired through the closed door, but no one was hit.
The suspects left the area in a white, four-door vehicle, according to police. They were both males standing about 5-foot-11 and weighing 185 to 200 pounds.
Investigators believe the victim was targeted and said the attack was “not a random act,” police said.
Another man was shot through the glass front door of an Orland Park home on July 14 in the 9600 block of Kris Trail. Police said that attack also appeared to be targeted toward the man or his family.
