Masked gang burst into Scots home and batter man in front of children in sickening attack

A gang of masked thugs broke into an Scots home and battered a man in front of children in a sickening raid.

Cops are probing the violent incident which took place at 3am on Friday morning in Irvine, North Ayrshire.

The 49-year-old man was with his partner and young children at the Tarryholme Drive address.

Three masked men burst into the property and violent attacked the victim.

He was rushed to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment to his injuries.

One of the men who committed the assault is described as being around 6ft, wearing all black clothing and a black face covering.

Detective Constable Ross Keenan, from Saltcoats CID, said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries into this sickening attack, including viewing CCTV footage and engaging with members of the local community.

“We are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and contact police on 101, quoting incident 0370 of 9 October.

“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous."
