Masked Dancer viewers floored as Bake Off star Liam Charles unveiled as Candlestick

The latest celebrity Masked Dancer was unveiled in Saturday’s show - and viewers were amazed to discover that it was a star with no dance experience.

The ITV show sees judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Oti Mabuse and Peter Crouch guess which famous faces are behind the costumes as they take to the stage to perform dances. This week saw the final six cut down to five as one more star was unmasked.

Candlestick was revealed to be The Great British Bake Off’s Liam Charles, much to the delight of fans watching at home. And many viewers were surprised by the result - mainly due to Liam’s dancing skills.

“No way would I have guessed Liam from Bake Off,” one person wrote on Twitter after he was unveiled. “He’s insane to say he’s never had any dance experience.”

Another viewer said: “He more than held his own against trained professional dancers - his performances set the dance floor alight!” They added: “And I bet kids loved that reveal - he’s a hero on Junior Bake Off.”

Some fans even called for Liam to take part in the next series of Strictly Come Dancing to show off more of his moves. “Liam Charles dances better than most of the celebs on Strictly at the moment,” one viewer Tweeted.

But some Masked Dancer fans expressed their disappointment that Liam had left the competition so soon. “I’m so shocked that he’s gone, I thought he was a finalist!” one person admitted.

“Lovely guy, great dancer - deserved to be in the final,” another added. With just five dancers left, speculation is swirling on the identity of the remaining mystery stars - Scissors, Odd Socks, Sea Slug, Pearly King and Onomatopoeia.
