The man, who was wearing a black face mask, entered the store on Ponderlaw Street in Arbroath at around 6am on Saturday, July 18.

After threatening a member of staff with an axe, he demanded money, alcohol and tobacco before making off with the goods.

No one was hurt in the incident.

The man is described as being white, aged in his thirties and of a medium build.

At the time of the armed robbery, he was wearing a black hooded top with the hood up, black jeans, a burgundy tammy and red trainers described as having a white sole.

He also carried a black rucksack over his shoulders.
