Mashed tickets from The Guardian

This weekend is Mashed -- a web developer hack-a-thon (aka hack day) at Alexandra Palace in London.

The Guardian has signed up to be a sponsor for the event which means we get to give away tickets!

BBC just opened 100 more tickets for friends of The Guardian, so please go on in and get one for yourself. Keep in mind that this event is for participants only. Your responsibility as a ticket holder is to make something new and interesting that changes the way we think or at least makes us laugh.

You may be aware of the rules already, but in case you're not, here's how it works:

You show up Saturday with your laptop or whatever and learn from a handful of interesting speakers. Saturday afternoon you begin hacking. You then get 24 hours to build whatever you want. Sunday afternoon you queue up for a presentation slot and then get 90 seconds to demo your creation for all your new friends.

After all the demos a panel of judges will select the best hacks of the weekend. The Guardian plans to offer an award for hacking something socially responsible. We'd love to see people building things that could make the world a better place.

Grab a ticket while they last: http://mashed08.eventbrite.com/

We look forward to seeing you there.
