Maserati and Jaguar supplier TI helps build healthcare respirator hoods

Italian flair: Maserati's new Ghibli diesel could do with more grunt

Sports car supplier TI Fluid on Monday said it helped manufacture and launch air-purifying respiratory systems (PAPR) for US healthcare workers in just two weeks.

The company, which normally makes equipment used by Aston Martin, Jaguar, Bentley and Maserati, worked on a project led by US motor giant Ford and 3M to design, build and launch the respirators.

PAPR uses a rechargeable portable battery to power an air blower system that sends filtered air into a hood that helps provide respiratory protection for workers.

The filter system provides a supply of filtered air for as long as 8 hours.

TI engineered and mass produced quick connectors and a new air flex tube for the devices.

TI is listed on the UK stock market and headquartered in the US.
