MASAM Employee Wounded While on Duty in Taiz Governorate

Saudi Arabia's MASAM project for the clearance of mines in Yemen said one member in team 30 which collects shells was wounded in an anti-personnel mine explosion while he was on duty in Al Hamly region of Al Muazza’a directorate in Taiz governorate.

Program Manager Ousama al-Gosaibi said that working in mine clearance is full of risks, and the exposure to such incidents is possible even if one is committed to safety procedures.

He reiterated that MASAM saw until today 20 martyrs and more than 16 wounded whom most lost their limbs in this humanitarian mission that is considered the dangerous and complicated.

Gosaibi further directed the medical and logistics team to provide full medical care to the wounded, and to provide him with all that he needs until he recovers fully from his injuries.
