Marymass committee allow ALL Irvine girls to apply to be Queen or Mary

The Marymass Festival Committe have announced radical changes to this year's event.

Girl's from the KA11 area of Irvine are now eligible to apply for the honour of the Marymass Queen and Mary role.

For the first time in 90 years, young girls from the 'New Town' area of Irvine will be eligible to become Marymass Mary or Queen.

This means girls from the following areas will now be eligible: Irvine, Dreghorn, Lawthorn, Springside, Girdle Toll, Drybridge, Perceton, Bourtreehill South, Bourtreehill North, Gailes.
