Maryland (3-2) vs. Purdue (1-4) Game Preview
Why Maryland Will Win
Purdue is a raging hot mess right now.
The star parts on the offensive side are banged up – WR Rondale Moore is trying to come back from a knee injury and QB Elijah Sindelar is out – and the team is on a three-game nosedive it doesn’t look capable of pulling out of.
There’s absolutely nothing happening with the ground game – Purdue has the second-worst rushing attack in America – the offensive line isn’t doing enough, and the defense hasn’t been able to pick up the slack with key stops or big plays.
Maryland doesn’t turn the ball over enough to give the Boilermakers a slew of easy breaks. Throw in one of the Big Ten’s best pass rushes, and there are just enough good parts to the Terp mix to take control of the game early on.

Why Purdue Will Win
Ooooooh, Maryland. You rocked Rutgers last week … ooooooooh. College Football Playoff look out.
The Terps were a total disaster the week before against Penn State, lost to Temple, and have been just flaky enough to come to West Lafayette without bringing its offense.
Starting QB Josh Jackson is out hurt, and Tyrrell Pigrome is in coming off the good performance against the Scarlet Knights, but the Terp program has seen the quarterback carousel before – it didn’t go well.
The Maryland defense is hardly anything special and can be hit hard by a hot quarterback. Plummer has talent, and the Boilermakers have good receivers even with Moore out.
The Terp secondary is getting roasted for over 250 yards per game and allowed three touchdown passes in three straight games before facing Rutgers.

What’s Going To Happen
Purdue is way, way, way overdue for a decent performance, and now it gets someone its own size at home. It was able to battle with Minnesota a few weeks ago in a loss, and now it’ll get by a Maryland team that will sputter and cough way too often.
It’s the third road game in four dates for the Terps, and while the offense will hit just enough to keep pace, Plummer and the passing game will click just enough to come up with a desperately needed win.
