Maryland safety Darnell Savage on Cardinals’ radar

The Arizona Cardinals are pretty set at safety for 2019, at least for the starting lineup but that doesn’t mean they won’t be looking at players at that position in the NFL draft.

One player they have scouted is Maryland safety Darnell Savage.

According to The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec, the Cardinals are one of the teams Savage will visit officially or have visited.

Savage, 5-11 and 198 pounds, had four interceptions, 52 tackles, 5.5 of which were for a loss. He ran the 40 at the combine in 4.36 seconds, had a 39.5-inch vertical team, a 10-6 broad jump and a 7.03-second three-cone.

It is believed he can play safety and in the slot.
