Maryland Governor Wes Moore has ordered the state flag to be flown at half-staff in remembrance of the tragic incident that occurred at the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The governor expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the first responders and all those who have come forward to assist in the aftermath of the disaster.

In a statement, Governor Moore emphasized the strength and resilience of the state of Maryland in facing this challenging situation. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the individuals affected by the collapse of the bridge and assured them that every possible resource would be mobilized to provide closure.

The incident, which took place early Tuesday, involved eight individuals who fell into the water. While two were successfully rescued, the remaining six, who were part of a construction crew working on the bridge, are currently missing and presumed deceased. Search and recovery efforts are ongoing to locate their bodies.

The governor's office has been in contact with the families of the victims, offering support, prayers, and reassurance during this difficult time. The entire state of Maryland stands in solidarity with those impacted by this tragedy and remains committed to providing assistance and support in any way possible.
