Maryhill gas leak: Homes evacuated after car hits building

A number of homes in Glasgow's Maryhill have been evacuated tonight after a two car accident has caused a gas leak.

Firhill Road is completely closed while emergency services and gas engineers attend the scene.

Police confirmed a car struck a building in the area around 5pm causing a possible gas leak.

As a precaution, a number of nearby flats have been evacuated.

Warning to dog owners as razor blades found near Mugdock Country Park

Firhill Road in both directions is closed with traffic slow from A81 Garscube Road to Northpark Street.

Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are at the scene.

We will have more on this as we get it.
