Maryhill attack leaves man, 23, with serious head injury

A 23-year-old man was rushed to hospital with a serious head injury after being attacked in Maryhill.

Police say the area would have been busy with customers at multiple takeaways around Garrioch Road at the time, who they hope can provide vital clues to identifying the culprit.

The victim was attacked on Friday, November 13 around 8.30pm and taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

Detective Sergeant Gillian Alexander is leading the investigation into the incident, which happened on Friday, November 13 around 8.15pm.

She said: “We are trying to establish the full circumstances of what happened and I am appealing to anyone in the area, or nearby streets, who may have seen something to come forward.

“There are a number of takeaways in the area and it would have been busy at that time of night."

DS Alexander also appealed to drivers in the area at the time to check dash-cam footage.

If you have information call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
