Mary's Bar in Dublin city centre giving away 100 free pints to 'bid farewell' to Theresa May

A popular Dublin city centre pub is giving away 100 free pints this evening to "bid farewell" to Teresa May after she resigned as British PM.

A tearful May announced she'll be departing Downing St this morning after three years of trying to deliver Brexit.

Mary's Bar on Wicklow St said it was "raising a glass to bid farewell" to the former leader.

The popular pub, which also sells hardware, has added some nuts and bolts to the mix as they're offering 100 free pints of Guinness to the first people inside the door.

As May gave her emotional goodbye speech, Mary gave her own statement, advising people to come down at 5pm to give a toast.

They said: "We love an excuse for a Friday pint at Mary’s Bar & Hardware.

"Join us tonight to raise a glass and bid farewell to Teresa May.

"She fought a hard battle, fair play to her.

"Marys Bar & Hardware on Wicklow Street will be giving away 100 free pints of Guinness for the first 100 people to say ‘FAREWELL MAY’ from 5pm this evening.

"Join us for a scoop and a toast to May.

"All for a bit of gas craic sure."
