Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald will take part in the leader's debate tomorrow night.
The debate was scheduled to be between Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin.
While Sinn Fein's previous requests had been declined, she has now been invited to join the leader's TV debate tomorrow night on RTE Primetime.
Sinn Fein recently polled strongly in the Red C poll in the Sunday Business Post.
In that poll, Sinn Fein and Fianna Fail were tied at 24%, both beating Fine Gael.
RTE says "We now consider it necessary to amend our original approach, respond to the changes in the campaign, and continue to put the audience first in the making of Tuesday night's programme."
A Sinn Fein spokesman confirmed to Dublin Live that Deputy McDonald will be taking part in the debate.
