Mary Lou McDonald has shared a funny video of two GAA players undergoing 'new social distancing training'.
The clip shows two young players wearing masks and gloves while they sanitise the ball and sliotar as they pass them to each other.
The Sinn Fein leader tweeted the video, saying: "New Normal."
Meanwhile, Tipperary boss Liam Sheedy believes that a behind-closed-doors Championship “would give the whole nation a lift”.
Though it hasn’t been completely ruled out, GAA president John Horan has said he can’t see it happening and the hierarchy and many others within the Association aren’t keen on the concept.
But Sheedy, who contended strongly for the director general’s job in 2018 before losing out to Tom Ryan, feels it’s well worth exploring.
He said: “I love the buzz and I love the crowd but I think the impact it would have on Ireland and in every household across the country watching family members or friends or other counties go head-to-head, I think the impact that it could have on the wellbeing and the overall health of our nation by seeing matches would trump everything for me.
“I saw Shane Jackson win the Grand Annual there over in Australia and to see Lauren, his wife, and Joey, to see the impact it had watching him on television jumping the last and going winning the race, like honestly it would make your heart melt but I think we could create those type of stories in living rooms across the country and that’s why I would be for looking after the people that maybe couldn’t go to matches anyway,” he told 2fm’s Game On.
