Mary Byrne gives positive health update after suffering injuries in horror tour bus crash

Dublin X Factor legend Mary Byrne has given a positive update on her health after she was injured in a bus crash last month.

The 63-year-old had been touring in the UK with the cast of 'Menopause the Musical 2' when their tour bus crashed with a lorry. Ballyfermot native Mary suffered arm injuries and tissue damage to her back and neck in the collision.

Now Mary has shared that she is physically doing better but remains mentally shaken after the crash, RSVP Live reports. Mary told RSVP Live: "I'm doing okay, I've still got a very sore arm from the accident.

“Obviously mentally I still think about it and it still scares me because it could have been a hell of a lot worse than what it was. But we got through it and we weren't very badly hurt. We're back on the road and we're back out doing the tour again.

“It's a blessing in disguise, I'm okay," added Mary. She has been touring in the UK with the cast of 'Menopause the Musical 2: Cruising Through Menopause', which is set to come to Ireland in May.

The Dublin singer described the tour as being "brilliant", and said that the crowds have really welcomed her back. Mary said: "When I'm in Ireland, the arms are open for me because they know me.

"But I haven't been to the UK in 13 years so it was great to see them open up to me and audience members have even said they're delighted to see me back. It's been hard work, but it's a pleasure to do it," she added.

The Irish leg of the tour will kick off from the 10th of May, and for more information you can check out menopauseireland.com.
